• Do I need prior heavy vehicle driving experience?

No! You don’t need Heavy Vehicle Experience. If you require a Light Rigid or Medium Rigid licence the requirements are that you must have had a ‘C’ Class driver’s licence for a minimum of 12 months continuously (as well as passing the written test and paying the required fees). If you require a Heavy Rigid licence you must have already held a C Class driver’s licence for a minimum of 2 years continuously or held a LR or MR licence for a minimum of 12 months, as well as passing the written and practical tests.
