Whether you wish to drive a small school bus, minibus or light courier vehicle, we have the tools to get you started!

At Rightway we provide ‘one on one’ training for your Light Rigid or (LR) licence. All our training for the LR class vehicle is carried out in a Toyota Coaster bus, which is one of the most popular vehicles used within the Gold Coast Tourism industry.

What you need to get started:

To be eligible to obtain a Light Rigid licence you must:

• Currently hold an open or provisional ‘C’ Class license for at least 12 months continuously
• Pass a Heavy Vehicle written test with Queensland Transport
• Pass a Queensland Transport practical driving test

Drive a vehicle in demand:

As the next level up from a car licence, a Light Rigid vehicle is one that fits within the following size and GVM dimensions:

• Light Rigid Bus [not more than 8 t GVM built to carry more than 12 adults including the driver]
  
  OR
• Light Rigid Truck [more than 4.5 t GVM but not more than 8 t GVM]

Be Careful: If you are driving a van with more than 12 seats, including the driver, please confirm with Queensland Transport as it is most likely you require at least a Light Rigid Licence.
